Taking a stand

Grants of up to $1000 are available to community organisations, clubs and groups for initiatives that support awareness-raising projects during the 16 Days of Activism Against Gender-Based Violence campaign.

The funding assistance aims to encourage Bayside groups to raise awareness of the prevalence of violence against women in our community and build skills to increase respect for women.

A Council grant could be used, for example, to host an event to promote the 16-Days campaign, or for arts and cultural activities or training sessions for staff or volunteers.

Sports clubs too can apply for projects which promote healthier masculinities.

The United Nation’s international campaign takes place each year from 25 November (International Day for the Elimination of Violence Against Women) until 10 December (International Human Rights Day).
