The Victorian Electoral Commission has published the formal list of candidates for electorates covering the Bayside municipality. 

Pledges on our advocacy priorities 

We are advocating for a range of projects, policy and service enhancements to support the Bayside community.

Our advocacy priorities are based on the aspirations of our community as articulated in the Bayside 2050 Community Vision and 2021-25 Council Plan.

Election pledges on Bayside's advocacy priorities include:

Yalukit Willam Nature Reserve and Elwood Diversion Drain Augmentation project
  • We warmly welcome federal budget funding for the nature reserve.
  • No state pledges received to date.
Funding for a Warm Water Pool
  • No state pledges received to date.
Funding for gender neutral sports pavilions
  • Brad Rowswell MP (Liberal) pledged upgrades at Trevor Barker oval
  • James Newbury MP (Liberal) pledged upgrades at Brighton Beach oval
  • Felicity Frederico (Independent) and Clark Martin (Independent) have pledged to advocate for upgrades
Level crossing removals
  • Both Victorian Labor and Liberals have pledged to remove the Highett and Wickham Roads level crossings
Suburban Rail Loop
  • Victorian Liberals have announced they will abandon project
  • Early works are underway. Funding in federal budget
A Minister for the Bay
  • Felicity Frederico (Independent) and Clarke Martin (Independent) are campaigning on Bay health and governance
  • Victorian Liberals $10 million pledge for a comprehensive erosion plan for the Bay. James Newbury MP (Liberal) is currently Shadow Minister for Bay Erosion.
Better buses
  • No pledges for Bayside bus services
Funding for BayCISS and Family Life building upgrades
  • No pledges
Local connections to the Dingley Recycled Water Scheme Pipeline
  • Planning for the pipeline is underway.
