Winter sport returns

With the summer sports season complete, winter sports such as football and soccer are filling up grounds across Bayside.

This may mean your local sports ground is used differently and availability to non-sport use may change.

Sporting clubs have access to sports grounds for their allocated times for training and games.

We have information for you on the allocated times for sportsgrounds. This schedule is intended to provide general guidance only and is subject to change.

Walking dogs on sports grounds 🐶

You can still walk your dogs on sports grounds during winter, however please be mindful of the allocated times and being responsible for your pet.

Responsible pet ownership is essential for the health and safety of the community and other animals, including wildlife, as well as protection for the natural environment.

Here are few things to remember when taking your furry friend around Bayside:

  • Always maintain effective control
  • Scoop the poop (and bin it) 💩
  • Don’t let your dog dig (holes are dangerous for people and pets)
  • Ask permission before approaching people or dogs
  • Never let your dog run at or jump on others
  • Dogs must be on leash within 20 metres of an area where an organised sporting event or the practising of the sporting event is taking place.
  • Put your dog back on leash if you need to.
