Payment option 1: Paying by instalments
The due dates are the same every year and are listed on your annual notice:
- 30 September
- 30 November
- 28 February
- 31 May
To pay by instalments you must make the first payment by the 30th September.
If you miss the 30th September payment date, any payments received will be treated as a part payment only and we will expect you to pay the remaining amount by 15 February.
Reminder notices are sent to instalment payers only. It is important that you make the first payment by the 30th September to receive any further instalment notices.
Instalment notices are issued 2-4 weeks prior to the due date.

Payment option 2: Annual payment
If you do not wish to pay the prompt payment discount or via instalments, then you will be required to make the total payment in full by the 15 February 2021.
SMS reminder
If you choose not to pay until 15 February then please be aware you will not receive another notice before the full amount is due. However, you can subscribe for a SMS reminder to make your payment.
Option 3: Direct debit
You can set up a direct debit payment that allows your rates to be debited from your account on the due date. You must apply for this service by filling out an application form (PDF, 681.22KB).
If you already have a direct debit agreement to pay your rates then your direct debit will continue until you notify us in writing that you wish to cancel the service.

- 9 direct debits made from October to May
- 4 instalments (as noted on your rates notice)
- 1 payment to be deducted on 15 February

*If the direct debit due date falls on a weekend or a public holiday, the direct debit will be run on the next business day.

Payment methods
BPAY
To pay by BPAY you will need to know your reference number, which can be found at the bottom of your rates notice. The Rates Biller code is 7872.
Alternatively, register for BPAY View and receive, pay and store bills in your online banking account. If you want to cancel BPAY View then you will need to contact your bank.
Online
Pay your rates securely online by card (Visa, MasterCard or American Express only). Please note that a surcharge of 0.62% for Visa or Mastercard or 1.4% for Amex will apply.
Direct debit
In order to register for direct debit, you must fill out the application form (PDF, 681.22KB) and return it to us via post or via email to revenue [at] bayside.vic.gov.au.
Credit card payments are not accepted for direct debits. For more direct debit information, please refer to the attached service agreement.
If you wish to use a different bank account from the one provided, you will also need to fill out the below form to authorise the change of details.

Direct debit arrears
If you have arrears on your account then we can assist you with managing the payment of your new rates. Please call us on 9599 4444.
Existing direct debits
If you already have a direct debit agreement to pay your rates then your direct debit will continue until you notify us in writing that you wish to cancel the service.
Direct debit dishonours
If you do not have sufficient funds in your account, or your bank advises that the money was unable to be deducted from the account that you have provided us, you may be subject to a dishonour fee. Three consecutive dishonours result in a cancellation of this service.
If your direct debit is cancelled, you will need to make your payment using any of the alternative payment options.
Australia Post
Pay at any Australia Post or affiliated agency. Cash, cheque, EFTPOS accepted. Credit card payments are not available via Australia Post outlets.
