Banksia Reserve is taking a short break
Banksia Reserve oval will be closed for two and a half weeks from 23 March to 11 April to enable ground repairs and grass recovery ahead of the winter sports season.
This sportsground is extremely popular among local sports clubs and dog walkers, which has led to heavy wear and tear and deterioration of the existing ground surface.
The short closure will provide an opportunity to undertake vital maintenance on the ground including aerating the soil, turfing, filling in potholes, oversowing new grass and laying fresh fertiliser to improve the turf.
These works will ensure the oval remains in good condition for all visitors to the Reserve during winter and beyond.
