Annual Community Grants Program now open

Local not-for-profit groups that contribute to making Bayside a better place can apply for our Annual Community Grants Program.

We're pleased to invite local not-for-profit groups that contribute to making Bayside a better place to apply for our Annual Community Grants Program.

The Annual Community Grants support organisations to establish, extend and improve programs and services that address local needs and strengthen and enrich community life in the areas of leisure, cultural, community development, environmental, health, education, sporting and welfare programs and activities.

Grants of up to $7,500 each may be made for initiatives by community groups that meet the objectives of our Grants Policy, particularly:

  • assist community organisations to establish, extend and improve programs and services that address local needs.
  • encourage voluntary activity, community participation and the contribution of local groups and organisations to community life.
  • promote community development and partnership opportunities to address community needs.

How to apply

All applications must be lodged online via SmartyGrants website. Applications open Monday 4 April 9am and must be received by 5pm Wednesday 18 May.

An information session will be held on Monday 4 April 5.30 - 6.30pm and Wednesday 13 April 10-11am at Bayside City Council Corporate Centre - 76 Royal Avenue, Sandringham.

Last round’s recipients

Last round we awarded 35 grants to successful applicants. Some highlights include:

  • Hampton Community Centre funded to provide art, music and physical activities aimed at building intergenerational links within the community and addressing social isolation.
     
  • Family Life funded to provide Active Bystander Training for Volunteers to better equip volunteers to respond to community needs and have the tools, skills and confidence to provide community members with information.
     
  • St Kilda PCYC funded to provide an outdoor recreation program to encourage student engagement at school and overall positive wellbeing following multiple home learning periods.
     
  • Bayside Toy Library's Zero Waste Party Packs funded to enable Bayside families to organise children parties in a sustainable and affordable way, minimising waste and reducing over consumerism.
