Cook, converse, sing and travel at our superb Seniors Festival

We promised you fun and connection and we won’t let you down.

The Bayside Seniors Healthy Ageing Festival got off to a wonderful musical start on Friday coinciding with the inaugural Ageism Awareness Day and the UN International Day of Older Persons.

And this week we have something for book lovers, travel enthusiasts, home cooks and everyone in between. We’ve even thrown a bit more music in, too with an uplifting performance from One World Voices Choir.

The festival kicks off tomorrow with Book Chats at 10.30. Enjoy a conversation with fellow readers, facilitated by a Bayside Library Service staff member.

Get your body moving on Wednesday with a Body Ease class and set your imagination free by joining Escaping Australia and learning to navigate sites such as Airbnb, Wotif ad Expedia.

Wander the Bayside Gallery (virtually, of course), learn to make dumplings, immerse yourself in poetry with Don McQueen, or take an online journey through historic Black Rock House.

Don McQueen, multi award winning Bush Balladeer delivers Australian poetry with exceptional passion and flair in this week's key event. You'll feel as though you're sitting around the campfire with Don as he tells engaging stories, recites classic Australian bush poetry, and some hilarious modern poems.

There is plenty to choose from this week. So, while COVID-19 restrictions have prevented us getting together in person this year, we still have an array of online events and activities to ensure you have fun with others this festival.
