Ground repairs at RJ Sillitoe Reserve

We’re closing the southern soccer pitch of RJ Sillitoe Reserve for approximately eight weeks from 5 June 2023. Community access to the remainder of the reserve will remain open via Lawson Street, while the Ludstone Street entrance is closed for essential recovery.

The ground’s surface at the reserve has significantly deteriorated through recent wet weather and community use. We’re fencing around the soccer pitch and limiting public use to weekend soccer competitions to help the grass recover.

The partial, temporary closure at the reserve provides an opportunity to restore the surface. Improving the oval condition will benefit all users and result in a safer, more enjoyable experience.

Dog walkers are encouraged to head to the reserve on Mondays between 5pm and 8pm during winter. We'll turn the lights on at the northern sportsground as part of our Lights on for Dogs program
