Summer School Holiday Activities

 

Activities are open to young people aged 12-17 years old. Participants must live, go to school, work or study in Bayside. Bookings are closed for the summer school holidays.

Abstract Art Workshop

Tuesday 9 January

Unleash your inner artist and create your own colourful abstract masterpiece. During this workshop, you will be introduced to hard-edged abstract painting techniques and guided through the process with visual artist Noni Drew.

Time 10:00am - 1:00pm
What to bring Clothes that can get dirty and your creativity

Stand Up Paddle Boarding

Thursday 11 January

A Summer favourite is back! Easy to learn, relaxing and heaps of fun! Come along for stand up paddle boarding on St.Kilda beach with games, races and a lesson. The water is calm and not wavy which makes it easy to paddle for both beginners and flat water enthusiasts.

Time 9:00am - 12:00pm
What to bring Bathers or clothes that can get wet, change of clothes, towel, hat, sunscreen, water bottle and snacks
Drop off/Pick up Peterson Youth Centre, Highett
Cost $50

Please read and complete the Stand Up Paddle Boarding waiver form if booking into this activity by Friday 29 December. Kindly notify youth services youthservices@bayside.vic.gov.au once completed.

 

Hoop City

Tuesday 16 January

You asked and here it is! Don't miss this 2 hour ultimate Basketball Experience. Hoop City is Australia's most advance basketball academy. You will spend this session in the shooting bays, dribbling in the agility bays and on the court playing games, drills and working on skills. No experience is required.

Time 11:00am - 1:00pm
What to bring Comfortable clothing, runners, water bottle, packed lunch and snacks

Games Day

Wednesday 17 January

Finish off the holidays with a jam packed afternoon of games. Choose from a variety of board game classics, Giant Jenga, Giant Connect4, Nintendo Switch (with Super Smash Bros. Ultimate), Virtual reality and group games including dodgeball, werewolf and more! If you like competition there will also be a mini lego tournament. Snacks provided.

Time 2:00pm - 4:00pm
